So, seeing as the original comment was on how there "could" be a good reason to run, how could that be talking bad about the Popo's?

I mean, if you run you are a complete idiot, so nothing you could say would be taken with much weight.

So, what possible "good" reason can you offer up for felony evasion and possible death?

Just one, "good" reason... just one?

I wouldn't run, but you're looking at more than a ticket for pulling a wheelie.

Yeah, a nice cop could probably write you for a lesser charge.

But he would be doing just that - writing you for a lesser charge.

For all intents and purposes, riding a wheelie is considered reckless driving and is a class B misdemeanor - same as DWI and possession of marijuana. They all equal a trip to jail in most cases.

Yes, a cop could bust you with a little weed and if he wanted to cut you a break could write you a ticket for possession of paraphernalia (though I hear that a new law in Texas has given officers the choice between a ticket and jail for this offense) but the officer would still not be charging you with the crime that you were guilty of, but instead would be charging you with a lesser offense.

I'm not cop bashing - I haven't been to jail nearly as many times as I deserve, but if you go around thinking that you can talk your way out of a trip to jail when you get caught riding a wheelie, you'll be sadly mistaken when you find otherwise.

or extremely suprised if your let of.

you did the deed, if you get of great, if not pay up (whether it be a ticket or jail time) you know the consaquences before hand.

Agreed.

I just think that reckless driving is too subjective of an offense. It needs more definition.

And a lot of the riders who are out riding wheelies are in no way riding recklessly, and shouldn't deserve a trip to jail when a cop sees them.

A lot of the guys have more control on one wheel than a vast majority of Houston drivers do on their best day behind the wheel.

There is nothing on there.

RIP and condolences to the family. Not a good way to start the New Year. It sure wasn't necessary.

any driver can panic and stomp the brake though... you can't so much do that as quickly or safely while in a wheelie. and almost any driver can jerk the wheel sideways in evasive maneuvers.... a wheelie, not so much. i'll have to disagree with your statement
