06 gsxr 600 VS 02 gsxr 1000

if the exact same rider did a lap on each of these bikes which one would have a faster lap time?

At any of the tracks we race in Texas?

The '06 GSXR600 would win; better handling, better brakes, easier to carry more corner speed on and easier to get back on the gas while in a corner.

I would have to say the 1000 by a couple of seconds or less. Patrick maybe right but that's my guess.

1000.

Most people can't utilize brakes / handling / corner speed of the bike to the fullest, but it's easy to twist the throttle on the straight to make up for lack of skill.

Now if it's a good rider / racer, then that would be a toss up.

Prob with 1k's is your corner entry speed. You come in so hot that most of us normal peeps get to heavy on the brakes thus loosing corner speed which is where you make most of your time at. I bet most of you would be faster on an sv650 than a new 600 at the track.

Then it would depend on the track.
At MSR the 600 would be faster at Sepang maybe the horsepower of the 1000 would overcome the 600's cornerspeed.
IMHO
