I think he was a great man...many have tried to follow in his foot steps and none have been able too. I don't know about giving him a national holiday though.

Martin Luther King Jr was a great man. He tried to unite all people. He didn't ask for recompensation- just that everybody should live together without noticing race. There has not been another like him. He does deserve recognition- even with a holiday.

I think he would be very sad to see what has become of his movement and the leaders that are currently in power to steer it.

He was a great man with a vision for a truely color blind society, unfortunatly the leadership of the civil rights movement that filled the void he left behind has done nothing to push forward that vision and simply concentrated on further dividing the country along racial lines.

He was not influential enough. The only folks who claim to follow in his footsteps are so far off the path that its not even funny. sad actually.

he truly did want a colorblind society, these asshats that claim to follow him are brewing hatred and racism in the black youth of today.
