anyone who stunts a fiddy is beating the out of it and a honda will actually last. not only will it last, but it will still have a resale value after you're done with it. buy a knock off and it will be out of comission in no time and be worthless. plus parts are hard to find for a knock off

I'll tell you what I was told and what I know now. LONG STORY so bear with...

My sis bought the Baja brand knock off 70's because they don't want to stunt, just ride. Cool. Not a bad thing and the kids love them - Ride the tar out of them - Daily. They are hard to start (Never on the first kick - usually the 5th or 10th) and the plastics break (The plastics are already cracked and/or gone - but that was because one was driven through a window...) Then they ride ROUGH only that could just be the tires

I found a used 2000 Honda XR50 for $500 and have dumped it at least 20 times the first week. It starts on the 1st kick everytime - even after every wreck. The plastics are still whole, but scratched and gouged. It's like they are Rubbermaid. The tires (dirt) are knobby, but the bike seems to ride smoothly.

If you want to stunt/kill a bike and replace it next year, go ahead, get the knock-off. Lots of them for $399 on Harwin- not a whole lot of replacement parts to fix them when they break. If you want a bike you can throw around and still ride next year - take your time, find a Honda 50. I have seen the GOOD stunters do amazing things and wipe out HARD - the bike gets picked up, starts on the 1st kick and they are back at it with nothing but scratches on the plastics or themselves.

Just my .02 since you asked. I don't "knock" the knock offs they are great/fun bikes for riding. Having tried both, I have to say I don't think they can take the punishment a true stunter dishes out.

I don't own the Baja's- I do own "Frankie" my sis got him for $100 here on the boards - great bike! Rides like jello over the bumps.

The Baja's are from Tractor Supply and have a 3 year warranty. I'm sure there is no plan to sell them, only ride them until they DIE!

I can always get my $500 back out of the Honda.

gotta be patient and watch craiglist, here, the green sheet, egay, and you fill find one stock but if you plan on stunting takes about 300-500 to stunt out a stocker. or get a used stunter for 700-100 depending on mods
