It's not the "Battle ship of Texas", it's The Battle Ship Texas. The ship took part in WWI, WWII and the Korean conflict.

I'm not trying to bust your or like that, but the ground you walk at the Monument and the area grounds ARE Sacred and Hallowed. That is where Texas won the battle for independence and is revered by many including myself.

The highest price was paid by many who fought bravely for independence and it represents everything that Texas stood for then and arguably stands for now.

Don't worry about the old farts that make a living watching over the park and the ship, disobey their order and you'll find out soon enough how fast and how loyal the fine officers at the city of Deer Park are to the monument itself.

You could take a minute and think about all this before you decide to run up for snapshot to prove something.

Back in school I was a volunteer coordinator and took many people out there for their community service hours and many returned to do more hours on their own time. Make a phone call and spend a Saturday painting on the ship or picking up trash around the park, you'll appreciate the things that it represents in a different way that you'll never get from a picture.

Thank you. I was trying to think of a way to respond to this thread, without causing a flame war. You got right to the point to set things right.

I'm glad you took it like a man (his criticism), and understood; rather than get all defensive as might easily be expected. Kudos to you!

its no longer a military vessel ...its owned by the state. so if you get busted proly just a ticket maybe a tow or somthing.

there is always police around over there also..one phone call and they will be all over you due to the monument being so close.

Sounds tight if you pulled it off, but I guess I've grown up some over the years as I don't beleive I'd take the risk. You're asking to be arrested and bikes impounded, that's tresspassing on a historical state park.

they could bust you for a lot of stuff. The picture would be cool and the ramp is strong enough. What the one guy said about being a volunteer and working on the ship would be a good way to get in.

don't take that off of them. your taxes paid for that ship, you should be able to ride wheelies on the deck, take it out fishing, whatever you want. you're from here, right? ok, so just go up and do it. but when you do it, you gotta roll cool as right? get a vidoe camera and a buddy. when you ride up there you gotta yell some gangster t, like "allah akbar, jihad jihad hurka derka derka'. it means "i don't take your i is badass " in russian, the most gangster of all languages. make sure your buddy shoots all the video and has access to your computer to show us all your badassness.

rock on!
