Safe Clear is here. Use it

Did two auto - pedestrian fatalities in two days. Both were people trying to cross a busy freeway. If you're in a non moving lane of traffic and your vehicle is stalled (flat, disabled, out of gas, etc), you can get a free tow from the City of Houston up to one mile past the nearest exit. If you are out of gas then its to the nearest gas station. This applies to bikes too. Just call 713 884 3131 or 311. And give them your exact location.

The freeways are a dangerous place and I've worked too many fatalities because many people didn't know the details about the program, were impatient, or just wanted to change a flat or a get gas on a freeway shoulder.

Thanks for that refresher. I sorta knew about the city having those services, but I wasn't sure. I'll be sure to save that number in my phone.

RIP

I heard that he was a runaway and for some reason thought he needed to cross 45 instead of using a bridge.....

I saw it on the news this morning! Didn't see anything about him being a runway! Said he lived in apartments close to the freeway! It took them almost 24 hours to identify him because his body was so mangled! Sad!

Better question is where were his parents while he was running around the freeway?

His mom dropped him off for the bus and him and his friends decided to run across the freeway as a "challenge".

In that case I feel bad, for the family. Looks like Darwin won this time.
