I blast my tunes everywhere I go, but I run speakers and are subject to noise pollution like a car.

Best I can tell, it's a gray area in Texas. I lane split just about every day, but I do watch for cops, and hang back when I notice them. I've split past some cops that didnt care, but I've also been lit up for it. I havent gotten a ticket yet, but I'm sure there are cops out there who'd right you up if they caught you...

i didnt ride alone often

but when i did Id have it pretty low, and only one ear piece in.

as for the radar detector mount, I have one as mentioned before, i love it, works great

and for the lane splitting, from my point of view its up to the cop, im sure he/she can write you up for wreckless driving

I have done it in Cypress a few times with Constables watching in the turn lanes and they have never pulled me over. They look and stare, but don't don't pull me over.
I just move to the white lines and wait for the light.

I wear a Nolan N102 with the NCOM system in it, so yeah ... I listen to my i-pod while riding around. Have not had any issues with hearing traffic noise. I also wear ear plugs, so even with those I can still hear the traffic, EMT and engine ... just not the wind.
