Man, I'd be if I got pulled over to be given a Starbucks GC.

Hippies might accidentally eat their stashes!

Lol, thats stupid. I would rather be left alone, or in fact, write down my license plate number and take the $5 off the cost of renewing my registration, but don't pull me over and put me through that sick feeling that i did something wrong just to give me a gift card that isn't enough to buy a cup of coffee.

just an excuse for them to pull a good driver over then "see somthing suspicious" after the fact and ticket or arrest them.... Probable cause just went out the window

This is plain stupid I would be . I hate the fear that goes along with a traffic stop. Horrible emotions. They should take the cop that came up with this idea line him up on a wall and shoot his stupid .

I don't really like fourbucks coffee personally, but I think it is a good idea to use positive re-enforcement for good driving then negative re-enforcement for bad driving.
This program is new to the LE so it might take time to get it up and moving. I also saw a commercial from Allstate (I think) that is awarding lower insurance premiums to drivers who don't receive sitations.
Again, this is positive re-enforcement and I think a good move to make drivers pay attention and become better drivers, thus making our roads safer.

You say this until they pull you over after a couple beers with friends(just a wee above legal) for good driving but bad bad timing.

I'm speachless!
I don't really know how to respond to that. You got me, hands down!

All I can really say is that each time I have to hit the brakes and dodge other vehicles cutting into lanes, etc I know the system we have now doesn't work...
