Then the PD should be charged with neglegance cause they failed to keep healthy officers. I doubte the charge will hold if this guy has half a decent lawyer.

Tough call- but involuntary is just that- involuntary. The officer did die immediately after pursuit... could have caused his heart to race, blood clot to losen and clog an artery. They do have a case. Unfortunately it's way out there- I'm going to say STUPID DA! They don't have to charge him.

That is why I would see it that not a case. Police officers have a physical they have to go through X amount of year(s). Especially as a man/woman gets older it is their dutie to make sure they are in good mint health because of things such has high blood pressure, heart problems, etc. It would have been his dutie to make sure he was capable of running after a potential, in this potential chase on foot. I know a heart attack cannot be predicted, so in this case, he cannot "cause" this officer to have a heart attack.

The officer already had the man in cuffs. Had the man been in the back of the cop car would it be just to still slap him with involuntary manslaughter because this man was wrestling with the officer? Now these are what if's and it really doesn't matter.

This is the deputy.

Doesn't look like someone you'd think would be prone to heart attacks.

That manslaughter case is bs imo why not charge all the fast food places the cop ate at for the past 20yrs to get a aterial block that caused the heart attack. Imo that cop should not have been out on the beat if he did not meet a certain physical requirement and if he did I think they need to reevaluate those requirements.

If they stick the manslaughter charges on this guy, than the woman cop who hurt her knee in that other case should be given her job back and awarded money for her slipping on the wet floor. Both hazards of the job. Getting a manslaughter charge because the cop had a medical condition is rediculous.

Well he probably met physical requirement but my point is that at an older age, it is your personal duty (not the city) to make sure you are in good physical health. It is your duty to check blood pressure, things like that, not the cities physical requirement.
