my best friend drowned in Lake Travis a few years back. I originally wanted a skeleton at the wheel of a pirate ship with a beer mug in his hand to represent Josh(RIP bro), but Dan said he couldn't get the skeleton to look right so he put a skull in the moon for me. It's kinda cool, representative of him looking down over us. Since he couldn't get the skeleton on the ship he decided that a "ghost" ship would be fitting, hence the greywash and lack of really dark outline on the ship. When all finished, the upper portion will be mostly dark and stormy skies, and the lower portion will be bright and colorful woodblock print waves with a hint of biomech thrown in. I will eventually go back and get a large octopus at the bottom just above the beltline (kinda like the old sailor stories about loosing ships at sea to huge sea monsters). All in all i was thoroughly impressed with his style and his work. I gave him free reign with my ideas and I'm 110% satisfied with the results so far.
