The problem with K&G, Burlington, and Men's Warehouse is that more often than not the pants are too wide and they have the one thing that I hate more than anything in suits...pleats. Pleats should really stop being made all together.

You know who makes good suits at a very good price, Target. They carry a brand called Merona which is a flat front pant, good size stance on the jacket, and it's a good weighted fabric which makes it very durable. I use Merona suits when I have to do plant tours or overlook job sites.

And if you're 170-180 pounds and 5'8 then you're probably average to a little over but I really doubt you're a 44 chest. My guess would be a 42 regular.

Little tip when buying suits, always put aside about $20 to get it tailored. Very rarely will you find a suit off the rack that will fit you perfectly. $20 and a tailor will make it fit like a glove in the pants and sleeves. A little more and they might be able to take it in at the waist if need be.

+1 on K&G. I bought a tux there for super cheap.

+1 on Jos A. Bank too, you can get some really high quality deals there.

But, I gotta say, if you get a good one, it will last your lifetime, plus I will probably be buried in my good one (even though I would prefer my supermoto gear or my race suit...if you guys can help fill that request)

+ 1 on K&G's ! Good prices for decent suits. Usually have tailor in store to hook you up.

I actually got a nice Banana Republic suit a couple months ago at Katy Mills for less than $200. This only included the jacket & pants and luckily I didn't need to get them altered.

No matter the cost, make sure it fits well. Nothing makes a suit look bad like not fitting properly, spend the extra $50 and have it tailored.

Now, if you have the money don't try to bargain a suit. A good quality suit you can wear for a long long time.

fyi
jos a banks has dress shirts for 19$ tomorow (sat) from 8am to 1 pm.

If you are not going to be wearing a suit for the job, then you probably do not need to wear one to the interview. Clean, pressed slacks and a button down w nice shoes should be fine.
