Re: lane splitting

Even though it would be legal, I dont know why, but I have a hard time doing this just because I feel like if somebody got they would cut me off. Or the fact that I would lane split and cars would not let me back into traffic and start honking. I guess I am being to nice. :dontknow:

Re: lane splitting

Guys - that bill didn't make it to the floor for a final vote, unfortuanately. It will not go up for a vote again until 2007.

Re: lane splitting

I don't think it'll work well without the cagers aware that bikes can do it legally(if the bill is passed). Cause if they don't know they won't be on the look out for it happening and that leaves some room for messy stuff to happen.

If I recall, the law read that it's not to be done at speeds over 20MPH. My thoughts were that it would come in handy at traffic lights and stop signs.

Re: lane splitting

do they care now? i would have no prob. doing it.........just be careful. though i think the state would have to do alot of promotion telling people it was legal.

i was hoping it would pass.

and yes it was meant for stop-n-go traffic, not lane splitting at 50-60-70mph........and filtering to the ft at stop lights.
