Depends on what kind of bike your looking for........the popular ones aren't going to go that cheap unless they are a real mess.

its just like a car dude. nice ones go to the highest bidder. the nicer they are, the more peeps are gonna bid on them to try to get a good deal.

Don't forget about the dealers you may be bidding against that can turn around and sell for much more.

my friends dad owns a car lot or 3 and he's always going to auctions. I've seen him get deals that crackheads couldn't compete with. and other times there is nothing worth buying at all cause they are too expensive for what they are. He actually just bought a GSXR750 with 3900 miles for around 900 bucks. Its all about getting lucky on a good deal.

I have a dealers license and have been to both dealer auctions in houston which is Big H and Hobby Auto auction. They do sell bikes on occasions, the also have sold classics 68 Camaro fully restored, boats, atvs, it just depends. One thing about that price is that it can vary so much depending who is at the auction but, I have seen some nice bikes go for low as $2000 before. To bad my dealer didn't want to hustle them. Oh, well cars only but ah..

you left out bayou city auction pool...which is probably the largest *dealer only* auction in houston.

and yeah....NO WAYYYYYYY are the bikes selling for even a decent deal (for the condition they are in).

i have been to MANY auctions.....it's just not worth it these days. especially bikes...they have been going for outrageous prices lately.

Yeah I haven't been out to those auctions in 2 months and haven't seen a bike recently at one. How often do you go? I used to go every Thursday morning to Hobby.

I got a buddy that was telling me that he bought his street bike this way and then he rebuilds them.

I wonder if this is an option for getting a cheap track bike that can be rebuilt?
