short movies, actors, actresses

Ok so I'm going to try and start making short movies and entering them into film festivals. One of the hardest things about this is finding people to help with stuff like, camera man, editing, actors, and actresses. This is a low too no budget film and the only pay you would get would be like meals and expenses. If I do win i'll give a cut to those involved but that is all I can promise. So does anyone in here have any experience with making short films? Or does anyone have any advice for me? Anything would be appreciated.

So far I have written a few stories and have submitted them to different people for review. Everyone that reads my stuff says I should make them into short movies. This has always been something I have wanted to do so I'm going to give it a shot. I write the screenplays and direct though.

My cousin does this for a living. It's harder than you think. Be sure you are commited. Don't try for Cannes the first time out.. Try the "Canned" festivle in Austin. It will give you some ideas.

I wasn't trying to be an , I really would :/:

But hey, I'd be up for a role as an actor, but I'd need to have an idea of the script first...
