F#$*&^* parade?

So, I was wondering who's bright idea it was to throw a parade last night. On HWY 6 between 290 and around Clay. Ordinarily I would not be so frustrated but there was 7 lanes slammed shut, for spectators watching a few fire engines and a couple pf horses. Why am I so ? Because my little 12# dog got a peice of rawhide stuck in his throat, and started to choke. He couldn't breathe and we start hauling to the 24hr clinic to find the whole f#$&@ road packed with idiots. No "alternate route" signs, nothing telling me there was going to be a shutdown in the area, just lined up. If this was downtown I could get it. But way out here??????? WTF? I was furious, my girl was blowing air into his nose to breathe, a 3 min trip was taking 10 minutes, and I'm trying to move through traffic. I couldn't clear his throat, she's panicking and no one's moving. About 100 yards away I was going to jump out and run with him through traffic on foot and he coughed up a peice and we were able to clear it. Scared the f&%# out of both of us. I started thinking, what if other people needed something in an emergency? What if someone was having a heart attack and half the VFD was out dickin around? Who the F$#*'s idea was this? When I drive by this am there's nothing but trash, debris. How retarded. I'm trying to find out whose idea this was. Someone besides myself probably had bigger problems that were ignored.

Money isn't a concern when a loved one needs help immediately. Whether it be a pet or child, people don't care. Are you going to worry about how much a trip to the ER will cost if something happens to your daughter? I seriously doubt it.

Glad to hear the dog is ok. I love dogs more than I love humans b/c humans are pieces of while most dogs love you no matter what.

I saw signs last year, but I still don't understand why we needed a parade. Way out here. And it's a crappy parade, even if I wasn't in a hurry for something important I would have been about sitting in traffic for nothing. Actually I tried to get him adopted here last year, ended up fostering him while heartworm treatment was going on, a friend of mr. clean took him for a week and brought him back so after 5 tries to give him away I decided he needed to stay. best little dude I've ever had. I wonder if there's any other way to clear an obstruction like that, anyone know?
And I spen t about 20k on my shepherd a few years ago when he had the bloat, I don't mind blowing a few bucks since I don't have kids.

Blue, you're on my same page. and I have lots of respect for cy-fair vfd. I was triple-trained when I was a popo and went to fire/emt school. Plus I wonder how long it'll be before one of you picks me up off 529 should I accidently toss my R1.

TRECHEOTOMY, but you better be sure there is no other way of saving him first. There is no backing up.
You can get instructions on the web or in the Army special forces medical handbook from Top Brass.

Ya'll quit hating! Again, glad to hear everything worked out for you. Just make sure next time for whatever reason, you know an alternate route. I need to find mine because I moved to a different side of town.

He was trying to take the doggie to the emergency vet on Hwy6 by Kieth Harrow. The next emergency vet is on Hwy249 and Cypresswood. There is really no other way of getting there unless you go through the neighborhoods, but getting through there is another challenge since everyone else is trying to sneak around the parade too.
