I have a question for you 1000cc owners, can most new 1000' a 100mph first gear?

Most of them will be geared to between 60 and 80mph, but sure, it's possible.

Dunno, but I can but why would you really want 2? tis better to shift and stay in your sweet spot where ever your powerband is on the rev meter

yeah, without re-gearing....you cannot hit 100mph (even indicated) in 1st gear.

you'll more than likely be where tom said, about 80mph give or take.

most newer liter bike will hit 100mph stock gearing, in 1st gear.

I wanted to see how fast my 06 Gixxer 1000 would go in 1st. It hit 106 when the rev limiter kicked in. First and last time for me. Scarrrrrrry

I get just over 70 in first on my 929. Granted it was never known for it's shear speed, you can imagine if I'm hitting low 70's on a 929 with short gears, a new litre should be hitting at least 80-90.

a stock busa hits 82 indicated at the top of first, 120 in second... but with the power mine has i could start in second, and that would make it my first gear so i could do 120mph

My 07 Gixxer 1 K hit 102 mph in first when the rev limiter kicked in in (C) mode, havent tried it in (A) mode yet, but has WAY more power in (A) mode Anyone doesent believe me strap ur on and lets go, but no peeing on the seat
