CMRA does those practice days on the Friday before the race weekend. It's a little far for us to bring all of our peeps there to work it.

We may still have an event there- they've got a little work to do first.

Well, the track is done, they just have other issues to iron out. They're getting there... maybe by summer '08.

ECR

Eagles Canyon has mostly finished their construction.
Members of the motorcycle community went up there to visit with the owners about some safety concerns with regards to ARMCO barriers that were installed right off the edge of the racing surface in several corners.
Ty Howard among others who actually works with ECR was not aware of their plans until he went to the track one day and saw what had been installed.
The owners have plans to remedy the situation but it appears it will be late spring before those changes can be performed.
I assure everyone that when ECR is ready for 2 wheel events we'll be there.
LSTD, Ride Smart, and the CMRA are all on the same page here just like our combined efforts at getting the wall removed at TWS (Texas World Speedway).
I'm not sure about other new organizations that have plans at ECR but I would not ride there as the track is currently configured.

Existing ECR armco barriers. Not good and what is trying to be worked out. This is pit-out... not good.

yes, that is correct. but not throughout the whole track....i believe only in the turns where the straightaway is. go to youtube, and watch a driveby video of one of the car drivers.

The height of the ARMCO makes it possible for a bike and rider to go partially under the barricade.
You can only imagine what could happen.
