So far as R/T, that only plays a part on how you left compared to the light or the other lane. The reaction time is not added or subtracted from the ET. And you can "fool" the lights by deep staging, and putting the top bulb out; that will drop the R/T but CAN effect the ET since you don't have as much roll out.

First timers should just ignore the R/T and the other lane, work on the 60 ft and shift points, and go from there.
I was just about to say that..... R/T means nothing unless you are actually racing against the other person.

You can deep stage to get a better R/T but usually less roll out means a lower trap speed and can affect your et as well.

When drag racing my car I always shallow staged and trained myself to leave earlier so I got the extra roll out and still tree'd a good light.....staged just enough to light the 2nd bulb.

+1

R/T doesn't affect your time at all....the clock starts when you break the beams at tree.

10.00s out of 750s and 10.70s out of 600s is just nuts.....When I first started racing bikes back in 98', CBR900RRs were lucking to break into the 10s.....I had a ZX11 and eventually I got 10.60s out of it but I was in the bottom 11s for the first 6 months I had it....Crazy how times change..

We did have a great collection of 600s this time....good head to head racing, most of which in the low 11s.....Makes it a lot of fun to be competitve amongst your friends...

cant seem to find my 11.06 slip.. guess thats what i get for stuffing my slips in my glove lol then driving from the track then home.

That is some SWEET mph.....goes to show you that your tuning and 114rwhp is doing its work..... I think the best mph I saw besides yours was Chris' at like 123.xx. If you can get that 60' down in the 1.70s, you will run 10.70s

the pro's are bracket racing.. so of course it matters then. because its a race from one end to the other, and whoever gets off the line faster (rt) usually wins

but getting of the line (rt) doesnt affect your ET it just means you started going quick, you could sit at the light for a min if you wanted to then go and your ET wouldnt still be whatever you ran, saw an 11 second pass.

NOW THAT WOULD BE COOL!!!! If we could do a Motohouston track day and rent the track.....It would be $$$ though.....$2000 divided by 20 people would be $100 each....I would still do it though if you guys got it together for that....... I bet its WAAAAAY more then $2000 a night though.

not if you do it on a NON-Regularly open night like say a wed? or monday? or even a thursday or tuesday!

or if that cost to much then ask how much it cost to have them open at noon and rent it from noon till 4 on a regular day that they are open

Found this on HRPs website:

Houston Raceway Park's drag strip is available for private testing/rental. For further information contact Kenny DeLaughter at 281.383.7223.
Track Rental Fee: $300 per car (3 car minimum)
Hours: 10:00am to 5:00pm
Rental includes track prep, starting line crew, ambulance service, & safety safari team.

Maybe it would be cheaper for bikes, or maybe your contact would give you a different or better deal, i dunno...
