Dude, don't kid yourself, mesh jackets are a joke at anything over a 20mph fall....Those pads rip off so fast its not even funny.....The padding is not what saves you, its the leather....that is the layer between your skin and the pavement. Yes the padding will help the impact but its the sliding that tears your up. Obviously the best bet would be a leather jacket with padding. Either way, your regular leather jacket will get you past the tech guy and get you racing. Don't worry about falling, you are not going to fall.....Just don't grab a handfull of brake at the end of the track and you will be fine.

Yeah the textile jackets are much tougher then the mesh jackets but the problem with the textile is when you are sliding, they burn to your skin.....they like adhere to it.

Caligonetx, yeah, after you finish your pass, just let off the gas and coast a little while, then LIGHTLY start applying the front brakes....You have PLENTY of room to shut down at HRP, just don't try to make the first turn off the track....I usually just coast all the way to the end of the shut down area and loop around, sometimes I MIGHT take the 2nd turn off but on the busa I am on the brakes pretty hard to slow down for that one(I trap around 163mph).

I will give you guys lessons when we get there...Maybe we can designate an area for use to meet at, maybe under the stands....

I will actually be caging it I believe, I am going with a buddy who is running his 600hp vette, but ofcourse I am gonna come hang with all you guys.

Who knows, maybe I'll succumb to the pressure and rig something... Can someone PM me a good way to do it.

The dead man's switch is a rig anyway, so don't let that postpone the day. Come on out and i'll just bring a few of the velcro jobs and squirly things and i'll hook ya'll up. I don't have one on mine either, so i'm gonna have 2 *****-rig my shyt 2

I personally am all for HRP, b/c i've never ran out there, BUT i see a few people (excluding me) not making it due to either apparell(sp) or this switch, which is not mandatory at the 1/8?

Just a suggestion, to make it easier for the guys who don't have what's needed. I'm probably gonna go to both at the end of the day, but jus trying to make this happen with the most people possible

Well, its just that some of us have never been out to and/or done a drag race, so we just want to make sure we have all our info strait. Cause personally, it would me off to drive all the way out there with my bike in a trailer, and then find out i cant race because of something!

know what i mean?!

I wouldnt call it "rigged" per say... TONS of racers use this method.... its where I got it from.

HMP sucks cause its 1/8 mi. That not worth burning up clutches and tires to run 1/8 IMOP. Most of these beginner guys are gonna want to break 100mph and they probably won't on a 1/8. Might as well just stay on the street to do that....
