Police officer BEGINS chase by using his bumper.

(and ends his day, and an innocent bystanders day while he is at it)

Let em run. If somebody dies the officer gets fukked in the end. Last time i checked I didnt get a check in the mail for chasing badguys. You are expected to be perfect when you're an officer an people judge you as such. My last chase was a drunk on a bike and I blew out two tires and nearly killed myself on 288. never again.

Now wheres that box of shipleys at?

i'm with you all the way.

i just posted that for those they are thinking the cops should go all out to catch a guy that is running.

1. i'm sure the cops wanna go home to thier kids.
2. i'm sure whatever the guy running did, its not worth the death penalty, and you can always catch them later.
3. why even CHANCE hurting innocent people?

what if you let the guy go and he plows into a suburban with a husband, wife and all their kids, killing them all?

chase em down. causalties suck, especially innocent ones. but theres a reason theyre running.

Unfortunately, I can say from personal experience, that percentage of possibility goes up exponentially during a chase.

I wish all PD would give the same rules to their patrolmen as DPS have, and give them the ability to use their weapons to stop a vehicle...

how far would he drive like an idiot if he didnt have the cops behind him? i'm sure once the heat is off he'd slow down.

or

chase him for 3 hours and you got 3 hours of 5? 10? 15? 30? vehicles hauling around town? every vehicle involved in that chase is a deadly weapon, not just the one leading it.

word, lets shoot the guy that is going x-186 on his bike, that way the bike traveling xMPH can hit ????? whatever it wants to....

just go back to the old rules..

DONT CHASE BIKES! its a lose lose situation.

99% of them are running because of things like.. traffic warrants, no M class, Dirty bikes, or they just dont wanna pay the speeding ticket...

NONE of which are punishable by death.

now if someone kills someone, and runs on a bike... take him out however you can.

but if its not a serious crime, why risk anyones health?

Is that intended to debate which one (in pursuit or not) is more dangerous to life and health?

Ratio wise, you'll easily find that more DD kill more people than police pursuits do, but pursuits that last for any amount of time exponentially increase the chances of innocent people getting killed or injured when taken in to context.

I still say that Police should have the ability to end these chases with force so that they never begin, so to speak. I'd love to see some built-in counter measures for people who evade, like the hollow spikes the police sometimes deploy that are actually built in to the freeway surface in places that can be remotely activated by Police in pursuit or remotely by those who monitor the freeway cameras.

chasing = bad... runing from the cops = felony... Lets try to meet halfway ... lets not try to run as much and cops should not try to chase as much... and we can all live happily ever after...
