Total abuse of pig power.

I don't think cops should be able to kill a rider just because he ran. I use to run and had friends that ran too. I don't do it no more but new riders might until they learn it is not worth it. I think death is a severe punishment for running from the coppers.

Come on man, a car hitting a biker usually results in serious injury or death. Like other people said get his license or wait until he runs out of gas. There is no need to knock a biker down. As a biker I don't understand why you are taking this stand for cops on this scenereo. Like, I said once you have been riding a sportbike for a while you mature some but when you first start you normally stunt on public roads and run from cops. I don't think being hit by a car is worth the crime so to speak. Do you really think it is?

What if you have a nephew that buys a new r6 he hangs around the wednesday night riders sees people popping wheelies on the freeeway thinking it is the sexiest thing he has ever seen. So he learns to do it but he also learns you go to jail if you are caught. So to a new rider he thinks to himself if I pull over I automatically go to jail if I run I will get away clean. So he thinks to himself why pull over?

Personally, I think alot more people would pull over if wheelies weren't considered wreckless driving and just given a ticket. Matter of fact I am starting a thread on this idea.

fit the crime, nope. but when you run whatever the end result, it was the runners decision to do so, and they have to live/die w/ those consaquences.

would you be as harsh on a cop if a cage runner got killed, prolly not.

racerX...

as long as bikes are faster than cop cars, and cops pull bikes over for silly stuff, people will always run.

thread...

good to know all the facts, i'll sleep better tonight knowing that if a cop tries to kill me he will atleast lose 60 days of pay

i'm guessing the other cop got his 15 days w/o pay suspension because of the way he was driving? dont really understand that one.... he didnt do anything wrong unless it was after the video.

From my understanding some cities/counties are not allowed to pursue a motorcycle over a certain speed. Or if the peson gets too reckless. In these cases they are required to call off the chase. Maybe that was where he messed up and got suspended. Just a guess though.

I don't understand the idea with people saying cops shouldn't do things like that. The was speeding putting his life and others in danger. Better to just leave it at keeping his life in danger while keeping everyone else safe. He decided to run, he pays the consequences.

Harsh? Yes.
Necessary? Definitely (Id rather him go down alone, rather them him taking someone else down with him)
