Some of the folks might have pushed a little too hard on the MSF button. It was mentioned about how locking the brake decreases traction, while true, it doesn't have anything to do with this situation.
He couldn't have locked the brake or he would have slid and fallen instead he did a stoppie. THAT is max braking. Any more and you go over, any less and it would take longer to stop.
No wonder he got a little defensive.

i used the word locked but i never came to a complete stop

Sounds to me like you had excellent control and the sudden push for MSF was a little unwarranted. Even MSF can't teach you how to stop faster than inertia and friction will allow.

Good for you stopping in time MSF is a good idea for all riders, not just ones posting up with "near miss" stories.

I'm really glad I took the class. Take it, don't take it, it's your decision. Glad to hear you are around and still riding and more importantly still in one piece

I want to take the MSF but i have limited time in my schedule for it, sundays are my only free day, between workin 45+ hours a week and goin to night school its hard to get free time
