I looked back at a post they had on the txchl forum and they allow "assault rifle" calibers to be fired. Granted the longest distance is 76 feet. I will call to make sure though. I assume assault rifle would be .223, 7.62x39, .308.
No steel core ammo would probably be a prudent choice, no sense in testing out the AP capabilities of their backstops.

maybe if this one works out ok we can move to a more centralized location. I have not been impressed with the prices and restrictions at most of the indoor ranges in Houston though. Top gun has lots of restrictions and I've never been to ASC, so I cant comment. Seems like these guys have a more relaxed ammo / firearms policy than most indoor ranges.

For those select few I know... we can roll to the ranch anytime and shoot whatever we want. Practice drawing and shooting. Maybe get a lesson from Andre3k.

Sounds good to me...
My schedule fits the 8th and 9th so let's plan on those dates if possible. I got the EOTECH sighted in but I still need to sight in the GGG flip, so I will bring that. I will also bring the stanard allotment of .45, 9mm, .44, and .22.
I guess I better hit the bunker and get some loads cooked up.

Moody, sounds like we better get over to the bar and have a drink. The ranch is always a cool thing, just need to get on the "select few list."
Got a M&G for that?

I wonder if it would fit in my rock chucker? I know it won't on the progressive. I would love to have a chance to develope some hand loads for that. If we have factory ammo (exists?) I would like to chrono that to see what the actual velocities are. The barrels on those dudes are pretty long.

Possibly, we are in hunting season right now so having a bunch of people is not a good idea at the moment.

The rockchucker wont work, its too small, i tried. The only presses that work are the RCBS ammomaster 50 cal press, and the lee 50 bmg press. There may be a couple of others but those two are the most popular. I ordered the Lee since is was the most affordable and came with dies, and the priming setup. Nothing is interchangable between reloading to the 50 and regular centerfire cartridges. Sucks.

I talked to the owner and they only have 11 lanes IIRC. They can accomodate two shooters per lane if need be. Be most likely we need to get a headcount and may have to set a limit on the number of shooters. I sent a link to this thread to his e-mail so he may chime in with a response.

Smaller may be better with this situation, especially when it comes to handling firearms.

Yeah, figures!
I guess that won't stop you from getting a standard deviation on factory stuff and then later when you're geared up see what you can do to improve the spread and increase accuracy. Sounds like a kicka$$ project.
My wife says I can't have one. I can dream though!

My wife says she is going to ban me from there.
She calls it the $200 Ring.
