AMA has less restrictions than WSBK. I think AMA will be faster.

I still prefer the WSBK racing series though as a fan... whomever is faster really doesn't matter too much to me.

I think AMA will be faster, be WSBK is much more fun to watch. After about 4 races in, I started to only pay attention to who was fighting for third, because 1,2 was pretty much decided early at every race ... BORING.

Is Miler a regular AMA track? If so, wouldn't the AMA guys have an advantage because they've ridden it before?

It's a regular track, but the pace on equal bikes at their level, should be negligible. Because of tighter restrictions on WSBK, I don't think they'll care who is faster IMHO. The only time it would be an issue is to the AMA guys if they get topped by the WSBK.

Good debate though.

WSBK & AMA will not run on the same course that weekend. Two diff. layouts for advertising signage according to RRW.So no direct comparison.

A few years ago when the WSBK guys would run at Laguna with a few AMA guys I remember E Boz kicking some serious on an underpowered ZX7RR and really making a name for himself. Don't remember Mladin doing anything spectacular that race but the bikes have changed since then!

I’d like to see Spies drafted into MotoGP pretty sharpish,
I hope he gets the nod if Capo or Vermin perform below expectation.

I’d have chosen Mladin over both 2008 factory WSB Suzuki signings.
Perhaps they just couldn’t afford him !!
Read somewhere that he gets pretty well paid in the AMA.

I'd pay good money to see BSB V AMA at a neutral track, on similar spec machinery and on a control tyre.

+ The AMA guys have more time there. When I speak of guys..... please understand, that I don't think half of AMA will beat WSBK. Just a few guys

Mladin won't leave AMA. With his motorsports venture in Australia, sponsors, etc., he earned over $7 Million in 06. He has no desire to leave here, this is his bread & butter. He's said it a few times in different interviews & hinted at the fact about his age and all the new guys, different machines, etc. He rode MotoGP (500 cc) back in 93.

Anyway, I'm gonna try to make this trip...would love to see Bayliss race the new Duc in his farewell season.

what a bunch of garbage.....

if the ama teams r faster they just don't want the ama to be able to say they have a faster series and better riders....because "world" superbike should be more elite than just the american superbike.

i was really lookin forward to this battle....now they should of just run on different dates.

on them.
The real reason they are running different tracks is because of the tires. Apaprently WSBK wouldn't sign up for Miller if they had to race on the same layout as AMA SBK... apparently since WSBK has gone to a single tire rule Pirelli has slowed R&D which has left their tires lagging behind Dunlop. Pirelli couldn't risk having the WSBK series 'shown up' by the AMA SBK series...

Like Steve-O said. It'll come down to tires.

Dunlop has the advantage of racing at that track before and probably has some compounds just for that surface.

Doesn't really matter though, as far as racing goes. WSBK wins. AMA = snoozerbikes.
