More boot talk...

Looking for a top of the line boot to be used for track days.

Currently interested in the Sidi Vertigo Corsa Air, but still looking into other options for similar or better protection.

Curious about Frey-Daytona Security boots and also the A* Supertechs. I have had a number of ankle injuries over the past 10 years and would like to do the best that I can to prevent further injuries. Nothing requiring screws are anything luckily and I'd like to keep it that way if possible.

You should be able to find these in the mid-200 dollar range. These are good boots.

Surprised, there's 14 votes, but few comments. Plus no votes for the Daytona's.

Sidi. Period.

I've worn and crash tested the Sidi as well as the Alpinestars and Daytonas.

The Alpinestars are very bulky to me and not as comfortable, but they held up well.

The Daytonas were nice enough, but didn't hold up as well at all in a slow speed lowside, <40 mph.

The Sidis have been the most comfortable and have held up the best for myself, my sponsored riders and friends I've known that wear them.

I slid feet first across the entire length of T1 at TWS (Texas World Speedway), mostly on my left ankle. When I hit the grass at the edge of T2 it sent me flipping like a rag doll.

My boots held up fine, even though it ground off a little more than 1/8" off the ankle support.
More importantly, I walked away from the crash.

I voted for Sidi Vertigo Corsa's....it's what i plan on running next season as well. i'll be placing my order with Patrick at Motorcycles Unlimited soon as christmas is over....if someone doesn't buy them for me first.

I currently own the Sidi Vertigos....but decided to go with Corsa's for the ankle support.

In the past, I have used Alpinestars...they were nice, held up well....but as patrick stated, they are bulky....and not easily adjustable as the Sidi's. Plus if you compare them side by side.....the Sidi's look more protective...and almost every part of the Sidi boot is replaceable.

You need to go and try on the top few boots to see what is most comfortable to you. Alpinestars and Sidi's are both very good boots. The Teknics I posted are good boots also.

Sidis ... I wear them on the ride to work, usually once I get in the office, I'll take them off and put on a pair of regular "office" shoes, but there have been many times, when I've been so busy that I've forgotten to take them off and end up wearing them the entire day with no issues regarding comfort.

I don't have first hand experience with them in a crash ... but as far as everyday comfort goes, they feel like a good pair of sneakers to me.

Oh, and Patrick gave me a kick deal on them, so go see him.

Depends on your intended usage.
Setup by Sidi has some good street boots that are very affordable.
If you're doing track days the minimum I'd recommend would be the Sidi Vertigo ro comparable boot.

And yes, we sell both of them.
