GAP insurance questions?

who is a good provider for gap insurance? I haven't checked with my company allstate yet. Is it available for used bikes? I think it would be a good idea to get this for my bike

It's sold in Texas, look for it online. It's AN EXTREMELY good idea, ESPECIALLY ON BIKES.

Sport bikes depreciate RAPIDLY and if u financed it with these high interest rates at 11 and 13% ur gonna eventually be way upside down.

Check with the bank u financed the bike thru 2 for it, or even a credit union.

You can GAP bikes in Texas, I got it for mine for $200 I think its a good investment. I don't know if Allstate does it, I know for sure Statefarm doesn't do it unless its financed through them. My credit union gave me the GAP insurance when I financed my bike. You should ask your local bank and see if they could just sell you the policy.

Well SF doesn't actually sell GAP never has, u get it FREE if you finance the car/bike thru SF Bank.

And NO company gives MSRP or GAP coverage on a bike thru ur comp or collision deductibles. It's always ACV or actual cash value when those coverages apply.

One thing that mine requires is that you have full coverage insurance you don't need medical coverage just basic full coverage. Just another thing you might want to take into consideration

Then I guess a certain agent was giving false info. I had been told/read that if a bike was stolen/wrecked etc.. that it would be replaced with the same no matter if it was 1 day afer purchase or 5years. But its all good Geico came through and I actually get customer service. Sorry Candy but state farm left a bad a very poor impression on me ranging from agent-claims etc... after having my bike stolen and then being dropped.

Yes, it just depends on the amount of coverage needed i think. Like they might not pay over a certain amount like maybe $5k or $10k.

I read that thread and knew then that wasn't the case, but so much emphasis was being placed on that 1 person, I let it go. BUT the fact is, and MATTERS on what company u go with, if is says "ACV or Actual Cash Value" to the side of ur comp/coll deductibles THEY WILL ONLY PAY blue book..period. Ur agent tells u something different, get it in writing, ASAP!

GAP insurance is definitely a good idea! Not sure on a bike but on a car for sure! About 6 years ago when that flood happened i lost my car and was upside down 6000 dollars and gap insurance took care of it!
