07 Aprilia Tuono R; BMW F650GS

Hello guys and gals

I am new to the Board. Live in Sugar Land, TX. Have never been on a track, but am itching to.

I have been riding a BMW F650GS for 2 years. Just bought an Aprilia Tuono. Looking forward to getting the Ape on the track, but I am so scared of dropping it. Every nut and bolt on that bike looks like it cost 10 grand. I would hate to have to rebuild that bike.

Are any of you guys riding your "nice" machines on the track, or do you tend to have track bikes that have some battle scars and such? Is crashing inevetable? Just do not know yet. Have not been able to set expectations.

Thanks

Hey, mon... I got some context now. I read the other reply first. Thanks for the welcome. So I hope I did not you off or anything in the other answer. Wasn't intended. I feel like a total dingus asking these basic questions on this board, so please bear with me, and laugh all you need to!

Welcome!

Congratulations on the new bike, I've always liked the Tuonos, I have a few naked bikes myself.

Riding the track can be just as safe as riding the street, you just need to ride within your limits.

Sign up for a beginners group with instruction and you'll be fine.
