moving music files should consist of:

1) open music folder.
2) hit control + a to select all
3) hit control c to copy
4) open destination folder
5) hit control + v to paste

done.

itunes tries to be the opposite of this. in fact, from what i have read, it will do its damnedest to try and delete all your files (you payed for) for good. , even mac users and ipod enthusiasts are having to find third party software like you mentioned just to do accomplish what the above 5 step process does in under 30 seconds.

it doesnt help that any article or guide to do this that i have googled is written by some grande mocha sipping mac-tard. they all begin with some 5 paragraph "funny story" (snore) of how they needed to move their music. then its some rambling about the state of the current version of itunes, with some menion of anti-piracy then some technical jargon to make them sound smart.

even once they get to the directions you have be as careful as a bomb defusal squad when dealing with the differences between how itunes purchased music and non-itunes purchased music is handles. suprise! itunes want to delete things by default.

apparantly these mac-tards are too hyped up on whip cream and chocolate syrup to write a simple guide, because from there it gets even more complicated...
it really should be a simple article like this:

HOW TO MIGRATE ITUNES TO ANOTHER MACHINE:
step 1: blah
step 2: more blah
etc...
done.

it makes me want to find a phone number to an itunes helpdesk, except im sure they will re-assure you no music files will be lost, but i would bet dollars to donuts that all non itunes purchased music would be gone in under 10 minutes.
