Just get a different bike for the streets. You don't need a sportbike to do 70 on. Get a cruiser and slow down and enjoy the hillcountry or just a leisurely ride to relieve stress. Don't ride in town or traffic that is when cagers rear their evil head the most.

Welcome to the DARK SIDE

The only downfall I've found by my "Track only" decision is that it takes a little longer to get warmed up at trackdays.

Other than that, I think this is the best decision for me.

We all are out for ourselves, what I mean is that we ride cause we want to, no matter how our family feels. What happens if your are the unlucky one and have that fatal accident. The loved ones and friends pay the price of our fun. It can happen on a cruiser can happen on a sportbike. I will take my calculated risk and take it to the track and spend the money, well worth it.

Ive had some close calls, cussed out a few drivers under my helmet..

Safer at the track? Yeh you could say that, But I dont think Ill ever give up street riding. You just have to become more aware of whats going on around you, and really make sure you dont act an .

best of luck to whatever you do!

Same here...!!! I'll never give up my street riding. Is too much fun..!! I commute in the bike everyday as far as is not raining in the morning it allows me to save money (Diesel truck) and time by using the HOV lane. I do not care if is hot or cold. Some of you maybe remember me wearing my old leather jacket in the Summer with the back protector below, it was hot but it was worth it. I always use all my protective gear. I agree is dangerous but that's part of the fun. I never go above 90 miles per hour in the freeway and I'm extra carefull. I think the track can be as dangerous as the street. Triple digits speed at the track, right..?? What's the average speed at the track..?? Even if you are doing everything right there's always a in the track not following the instructions and causing accidents like the one Patricia suffer and trashed her bike and her leg, also track days seem to be expensive for a small amount of fun.

Sorry to heard about your descion and good luck in the track.

Start doing 15-20 TDs a year and then we will see if you still ride the street. (yes I know Jimmy you still do)

How much will that cost..?? I mean "total" costs. (tires, gear, fees, etc, etc)

Will the bike insurance (comprehensive) cover a crash in the track..??

so back to 1x maybe 2 on a good month. most of us don't have the time or $. if you can get your fix, good for ya.

but to condem all street riding is assinine. i've crashed 1x in 70k+ mi, you think you'll crash less at the track? or have less "close calls" ? it'll be a diff kinda close call but both will make your hair stand on end.

Wow sensitive today aren't we?

Have I ever ever condemed riding on the street? No. Not at all. I look at it this way instead of spending money on insurance tires and such I spend it on track time. In 60K+ riding I 2 have only crashed once well 1.5 times.

After a hit off the pipe I'm good for about 2-3weeks.
