Geezer, make sure once you dump the Acid in the battery, you let it sit for 1hr before putting the charger on it. The plates in the battery need to full absorb the acid and allow the chemical process to complete. Then you need to trickle charge it at 2 amps for 12hrs or until your auto charger turns off....or if you are in a hurry, charge it at 10 amps for 2-3hrs at least.

If you just dump acid in and put it in the bike, it WILL start it but the battery will never be as strong as a fully prepped/charged one...Often times the cranking amps are much less and the battery will eventually have problems holding a charge. DON'T CUT THIS CORNER....

Also, make sure you get a Yuasa YTX12BS, don't let them talk you into the larger 14BS, it is JUNK.....Stick with the original model battery...

Call me if you still have problems after it starts...

thanks man.. i did it just like you said.. works great. and the 14 is too tall anyway for the seat to set back down properly.. got it in and got it running.
