Well, you were fine on the MX track but I totally rocked in the (non existant) trails!

$5 a day at the trail head AND an offroad sticker on the bike ($8/year), available at Honda of Houston and other local spots.

FYI - Rio is having an event this weekend so it won't be a "typical" ride if you go there. It's a two day MXers reunion and benefit. It's a cool deal to go and spectate and/or participate, but I don't want y'all thinking it'll be just an open weekend up there.

Are we looking at Sat or Sun? I might be in. Need LOTS of practice still! :/:

Well, let me be a bit clearer... is it more likely that this will happen on Saturday or is it more likely that it will happen on Sunday?

if your talking about sam houston national forest i'd think again its hunting season right now and you might get shot. i've thought of shooting at 4wheelers b4 when they drove down trails i was hunting on. its very aggravating.

you've thought about shooting at a human without them threatening or endangering your life? It sounds like you may need to go back to the Hunting Safety Class. That's not at all funny, nor respectable. I wouldn't ever admit to that, much less express that on a public forum.

I've been riding out there weekly during deer season for a few yrs. now & seldom see any hunters... It's a big place (over 250,000 acres) & you dont have to hunt around the multi-use trails. If you do & I roll by with a loud big-bore 4t & scare away the chihuhua sized deer your scoping out your not much of a hunter anyway.

If you're nervous about riding at SHNF, wear a bright orange construction vest over your gear just in case. But I wouldn't let hunting season stop me - they share the land with us as much as we share it with them.

Dirt, Street, Track, Dual Sport, I like em all.

I know hunters often cause problems. I think its , but it happens. I think hunters need to stay away from the multiuse trails and they wont have such a problem. They arent supposed to be hunting on multiuse trails anyway as far as I know.

Cliff: I will be out at Skull Creek this weekend setting up for my family enduro race on Dec 16th.

Enjoy

i don't know if my truck will make it that far...it's kinda a piece. That place would be worth going to if we can get a good group to go and camp out. $20 + tax and free primitive camping is nice.

Think we can find some place closer though?

I'll be down to ride Saturday. I cant Sunday because of softball.

But I'd rather do something local and not have to drive a hundred miles or so just to ride trails when I heard there's plenty around here. I'd rather spend the day on the quad enjoying it, not on the road getting too and from there. If it was a weekend/camping event I wouldn't care but.......... hey, that's another idea. Maybe another time though.

What do ya'll think?

in that case, I'm game. I'd just hate to have my truck break down outside of Houston. Well I'd hate for it to break down anywhere, but you know what I mean.

Milez, I'm not sure what places allow ATVs...it looks like this place does though.

i'd goto splendora. or 290. or 3 palms. or highlands. or Southwest too.

i'd prefer something more local, but BigC wants to play around on some trails.

I've been itchin to play in the dirt lately too, but I don't want to, nor is it really feasible for me to go anywhere other than local tracks. (the whole getting the bike there without a truck thing) Plus I haven't soared a dirt bike in a good minute. All I've been doing is "trail riding" in a new neighborhood with no houses. makes for good wheelie practice but that's about it.

ya, i'm really wanting to jump the bike. Last time I went out was my first time jumping a "4 stroke and new to me" bike, so I was a little reserved and really didn't get much off the ground. It was weird being back in dirt boots, I couldn't feel my brake lever.

I prefer something local, since I need to use this weekend to shop for the gf's birthday next week.
