+1

Babies with birth defects or mental retardation would have been tossed into the water or left to fend for themselves. Now they are still looked after for life, hence gixxerbill threads.

I wish we could breed raptors from dino DNA. I would pay $10,000 to go hunt one and $20,000 if I could only do it once in a life time.
I think the guys in Jurrasic Park 2 were candy for being killed like that when they came after them.
If I were there we would have had dino burgers for dinner that night...

Not exactly. I believe ancient tribes had an excellent social network and their survival as a tribe was very much attributed to how they cared for their elderly and sick.

Natural selection would only happen if people with challenges or sicknesses are not able to reproduce, hence eliminating the gene or allele.

No creature hit an evolutionary dead-end. Chimps and Urangs and Gorillas are fully evolved just like us. And still evolving.

The difference is what aptitudes were accentuated by evolution.

Gorillas evolved to be big and strong to be able to intimidate or fight predators.

Urangutangs evolved tree climbing to evade predators and gather food.

We. being the smallest, evolved not our muscles but our brains, we also evolved the hip bone to be able to stand up straight in tall grass and see and outsmart predators.

There is no evolutionary dead-end. It's still happening, we just can;t see it because it takes thousands of generations and we only live one.
