Are my carbs going bad?

My 250 isnt running right, it will start up but has a hard time idling even with the choke all the way up. The strange thing though is when i give it some gas to stop it from dying it will die anyways. Could it be the carbs or something else?????

Has the bike sat up for awhile?
How many miles are on the bike?
When was your last tune up?
Did it just begin happening? If so you may have just gotten a bad tank of gas.

If you'd like, bring it by and we'll look at it / test drive it free of charge.

need a carb clean...then use fuel stabilizer and carb cleaner regularly in the tank. the jets are clogged due to the fuel spoiling..ethanol...crappy stuff.

on fri on of my friends was trying to learn how to ride and she dropped it and it flooded the carbs. I was able to get it started after that but since then it has been running bad, the revs will actually drop when i give it gas...

but it has about 28XX miles on it and i try to ride some atleast everyday and i have no idea when the last time it was serviced

also when it happened last night i let it warm up for about 10-15 min and when i left my friends house it just died at the stop sign... it wont run longer than 5 min or so and if i go below 7k or so it dies aswell

More than likely the airbox is full of oil from when he dropped it, the plugs may be a little fouled as well.

Pull the air filter and look at it and se if it's wet.

There's also a rubber drain line coming out of the air box and routes under the bike.

Remove the plastic plug from it and see if a lot of oil drains out.

If you need more help bring it by and we'll look at it.
