try to be flexible with your plans and if you say you are ok with saturday keep in mind that the weather might move in and hose you for that day.

this weekend a couple of the skydiving places up north got hosed for a day and a half, some of them havent been able to jump for the last 3 weeks.

keep in mind not only does it have to be dry, but it can't be too cloudy. Ive jumped a couple times already and the skies have to be pretty good cloudwise. Both times I've jumped from 12k ft. and for those wondering, no, you don't get the sensation of stomach in throat type thing because your body is not in a vertical position.

Scuba is actually a lot more dangerous.
I don't quite know about that BUT, Here's the difference......I can put all this gear on and go either slowly down deep OR just stay shallow. There's a training class prior to diving that includes pool instruction. By the time I got into the water at Coz I felt pretty confident.
(Jacques Cousteau voice) I can gently glide to the depths and look that the beautiful scenery and fish. The colors are vivid and you don't quite feel on top of the food chain but rather part of it and small. There's no way to describe it......
Jumping out of an airplane "seems" like this.....
Instructor Yelling due to the wind noise cause the freakin door's open on the plane........................
"OK! We're about (really f'n high in the air) feet. Everyone exit the plane in orderly manner so we don't get tangled up. Approach the door and the green light signals a GO! When I say jump you jump!"
Students give reluctant thumbs up signals while strapped to other instructors so if he/she changes mind.....weeeeeeeeeelllll!

The green light turns on and the pucker factor hits +100. You're pushed forward and no matter how hard you try to resist, the smiling instructor you're strapped to moves immenently forward toward the open door.
The air rushes against your face forcing your goggles to become ascew on your face. You look down and everything looks so small.
While you're looking at the scenery and wondering why the you got yourself into this mess and suddenly........
The head nut-job screams, "GO!"

OH IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!
You're plummeting to the earth at about 125 MPH or 250 FT a Second. Praying to to Almighty the chute opens. Making promises to that if you survive this idiotic stunt you'll go to church every Sunday without fail and you'll never do this again. You're not quite sure but you may have wet your undies or worse. You might throw up and that may happen due to the constant scream coming from your mouth.
Yes. That IS you. You're screaming like a little girl.

You both finally land with an abrupt thud. Not too graceful but on the ground never the less. You don't get up right away as you make an attempt to hug the ground.
Your so called "friends" who talked you into this run up asking if your OK. There not smiling yet. Not until you say, "Yeah. I'm OK." that they all start laughing and saying how stupid your face looked prior to hitting the ground. And then they see it. The wet spot on your rented jump suit that gives away the fact that this scared the outa you.
One of the dummies says through his laughter, ", let's do it again!" and slaps on the back.

No. I think I'll take the "danger" of SCUBA. But, if you still think it's more dangerous...well.....I'm a real adrenalin junky to the core and real risk taker unlike you sky diving pansies. HA HA!
