Evolution =

1. any process of formation or growth;
2. a product of such development;
3. Biology. change in the gene pool of a population from generation to generation by such processes as mutation, natural selection, and genetic drift.
4. a process of gradual, peaceful, progressive change or development, as in social or economic structure or institutions.

I wasn't pursuaded to believe it. Nor do I have to continue to believe it to fulfill some sort of belief system. Science changes all the time all the time with the discovery of new evidence and new understanding. I have seen evidence for it, not just the fossil record, but dna/genetics. It's there.

As far as proving it is false... if you have really seen the evidence beyond Lucy and that poster on the wall () and still dismiss it, then you dismiss it based on the conflict with your religious faith, not evidence.

guess you’ve noticed that my arms don’t fit in my old suits
I guess you’ve noticed that I’m eating lots of jungle fruits
Anyway more than I used to
I used to be so tall and thin
Now I’m not exactly sure which phylum I’m in

And I know there’s a monkey in the future for you
And there’s nothing modern science can do
Keeping the thumb but I’m getting dumb
I’m devolving, I’m devolving
I am de-evolving

I guess you’ve noticed that I can’t sit still at dinnertime
I guess you’ve noticed that I quit my job and I learned to sign
Anyway more than I used to
I used to have a little body hair
Now I have to use a razor everywhere

And I know there’s a monkey in the future for you
And there’s nothing modern science can do
Keeping the thumb but I’m getting dumb
I’m devolving, I’m devolving
I am de-evolving

Why get so angry at me?
I don’t understand how you expect me to defend my actions
Knowing what you now know
Monkey one and monkey two
Monkey me and monkey you
Monkey see and monkey
Do you still love me
Now that I’m a monkey?

I guess you’ve noticed that I drag my knuckles when I dance
I guess you’ve noticed that I stuff a tail inside my pants
Anyway more than I used to
I used to see a movie now and then
Now I’m never gonna watch King Kong again

Because I know there’s a monkey in the future for you
And there’s nothing modern science can do
Keeping the thumb but I’m getting dumb
I’m devolving, I’m devolving
I am de-evolving

I’m devolving
De-evolving
I’m a coal miner’s daughter

Scientists say that it has to do with the steroids and un-natural chemicals we use to grow our ag products. (shrug) Don't think you can get all scientists to agree on "WHAT" exactly causes it.

In defense to my cold/virus comment. I didn't take the time to clarify or properly state my comment as it was lunch time and hunger took over. I should have ate a snickers before I wrote it. When I said evolution, I meant the theory of evolving from one creature to an entirely different one. Sorry.

I think it has to do with better nutrition and food abundance.

I am not saying that someone sat you down and tried to physically pursuade you to believe in evolution. You probably did your own research and liked what you saw and that was that. And as far as developing a belief system, I think you kind of did when you answered my question as to whether you "believe" in the scientific evolution theory. As with Lucy, I have seem more than just a poster on the wall when I decided to take anthropology. I knew a decent amount of it before then and I have a better understanding of it now. I am not going by some lack of artistic poster on the wall and Lucy, although she would better support your reasoning to the evolution theory (if I am not mistaken). And no one seems to understand what I am trying to get across here. Regardless if it was evidence or not. People chose to believe what looks best to them. I don't give a as to how much you think you have to prove to me when it comes to whether your belief is right because, "to each his own". All it is... Is what you BELIEVE is best set aside what evidence is presented, even though some evidence may be FACT, in conclusion to all those bit and pieces of FACTS, it is still a theory.

Improvements in nutrition, education, and healthcare. Also, it is proven that people living in rural areas (Kansas) are healthier and taller that people living in urban areas (New York.)

I know what your saying girl, trust me I do. But, just because I understand it doesn't mean I agree with it.

Your smart, and I'm glad your passionate about something. Lot of people don't have that.

the same way deer that live in the florida keys "key deer" are the size of dogs

theres less food, and less room, therefore they size down over time
