jimmy, wish you didn't post stuff like that. brings back some painful memories of a fallen best friend that died the same way for me to see. I wish i didn't open this thread. I had enough friends die this year and seen plenty of bad wrecks from my MH brothers. If your going to preach saftey, practice it...and set an example for less skilled riders. We have talked about this plenty my friend. I don't need to openly speak further.

For others please don't make jokes of things like this. Remember my and our friend Matt/Yankee....he was always a safe rider. Anybody can get it riding these bikes, it could be you they flame next in some bad pics.

I don't preach saftey anymore for the fact that people are going to ride the way they want. So do I. This thread touched me a bit... I'm sorry guys

Read that article and think for a minute folks. That truck was rolling down the interstate and probably doing 70 mph. That bike was doing 120+. That is an impact of 50 mph at least.

Next time you decide to roll that wrist, make sure you are just as good with the brakes if someone cuts you off.

Wasn't that long ago we lost a Busa rider on a backroad when a little old lady miss judged his speed and turned left. Give yourselves a chance and slow down a little, k?

Interesting that a thread like this comes up.. I was just reading "Sport Riding Techniques" and the section on braking caught my attention.

"If you routinely ride at 120, better practice stopping from 120"

And another section where he talked about a braking test they set up in a clean parking lot, and the very first guy goes down, locking the brakes. He was a very experienced rider as well.

Enough preaching, ride safe and practice those skills out there....

! My first time to see this article. Gives me a lot to think about and consider as a noob. Then to think there was no sign of intoxication either...just crazy!

If I had to guess he was on the gas and misjudged the rear of the truck weaving thru traffic. We had one like that on 290 last year as well...

Not trying to dredge up old memories, but does anyone see a trend here with triple digit speeds on the street?

Especially in traffic.

Chills.. down my spine.. even though i see ppl die almost everyday.. it still shunts me to see pics like these...

We should never treat our roads like it's the race track.. if you like to speed 10+ miles over the speed limit keep it.. on the race track.. it's safer that way... their is a reason.. for speed limit posted on the roads..

Admit i am guilty of speeding (open roads only) ...

be safe ppl... be very safe.. especially during this holiday seasons.. with all the traffic around town.. :o)

its human nature to think that this sort of stuff happens only to " other " people... but sooner or later that " other " person is YOU... No matter how many pic of drunk driver vs. sober driver pics we see... many go out and drink and drive... no matter how pics of Riders vs. cars/fixed objects we see many go out and race around as if Houston (suburbs) were a track... Just stop and think for a Second... I heard a quote once from my mother that makes me think about this... " its better to loose a second in life than to loose life in a second. "

High speed weaving through traffic at night. That alone is a bad combination. If you are going to do triple digits do it on an open road in good conditions during daylight hours. If the cagers can't see you during the day they are not able to see you that much more at night.

Even though these pics are disturbing I think it is a good idea to post them up from time to time as a reminder that this happens to riders of all skill levels and that we need a reality check sometimes to keep us in line.
