New guy saying Hello

Hello all, I am new to the forum and new to sport bikes. I've spent many weekends riding dirtbikes, small sport-cruisers, and scooters here and there since I was in my early teens. Now I'm 25 and I recently bought a 2002 Yamaha R6, took a four day MSF course (in the rain), got my moto license and have been riding my R6 (mostly just in my neighborhood) EVERY day over the last four weeks. I shouldn't fail to mention that I did do some (maybe 100 miles total) cruising around town and on back roads. I wear all my gear religiously and I feel VERY comfortable on the bike. Any tips or recommendations for this newbie would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks J-Row. I aint even thinking about stuntin', probably never. I like track style riding more. I hate to say this, but I already did break one rule...I crossed the 100 mph threshold the other day. Really, I think I did it just to say "I DID IT!" I wasn't over 100 mph for more than a few seconds on an uncrowded 288. It scared me...I backed off, and I went back to more comfortable riding on hwy 6 where I could get some more practice in stop and go, stop light traffic. All in all, I had a bad- day riding.

Ill post my Alaska hunting questions in here. So what did u shoot that moose with?? I was thinking about getting a 30-06 or maybe something similar to that. I hunt with at .300 savage lever action back in Michigan for whitetail deer.

Shot it with 165 gr boat tail 7mm Rem mag at 250 yards. Hit it four times in the chest before he finally fell, even though he didn't even take a step. I use the same gun but with 145 grain ballistic tips for Texas whitetails. A 30-06 should be plenty powerful for moose too, if you shoot well, at 250 yards or less. Also the 30-06 it is a little more diverse and common cartridge than the 7 mag.

Yeah that was my second choice (7mm). I can shoot 500 yards open sights with a .223 (M-16) and hit center mass. I spent 4 years in the Marine Corps and that was part of our training. But i am looking to get either the 30-06 or the 7mm in time. But first i will prolly get a glock 27 to carry concealed. Right now i have a Glock 22 but its big and bulky and i need something smaller. So thats on my christmas wish list.
