1 beeelion dollars!

http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/5317036.html

"BP should pay $1 billion in criminal penalties for the deadly Texas City refinery explosion instead of the $50 million agreed to in a plea bargain with the U.S. government, a lawyer for blast victims said today. "

"Perry represents 12 clients who were injured in the March 2005 plant explosion or lost family members."

ok, BP admitted they screwed up and were gonna pay some big bucks, but come on $1b, pulease

on the side i'll prolly be heading up to the BP plant in Indiana, and if i get blowed up, i want my wife to collect $1b as well.

Still probably cheaper to pay the lawsuit and penalties than to actual fix the problems.

Collusion... The others will be more than happy to raise theirs to level the market.

they refine the oil to gas and sell it. this $1b (if they lost) would just get passed on to the consumer. and since me and 400 other people are working on 1 BP job, it could effect this $5b job. and we're on 1 project, they prolly have hundreds of jobs going on. we're expanding their largest gas refinery, so stopping this project would effect the economy of the US.

Dont forget that BP was also in trouble for price fixing and gouging.
