Bad habits passed down

This irritates me , I hope this person (i doubt it but it's worth a try) gets on here.

Guy in my neighborhood rides a cruiser w/out helmet. His daughter rides a dirt bike(ttr80 I think?) around the nieghborhood without one either. I see her flying up and down the street with no helmet on ever. I am not about the riding a dirtbike on neighborhood streets i know its illegal but i was guilty of it at that age as well, it's the no helmet deal thats getting me. And the speeding.

If you ride with out a helmet and you are a grown adult thats your perogative. But letting your kids ride without them is stupid.

I would tell you this myself but you and your daughter are always flying buy,

I am the guy thats always working on the yellow gixxer in his driveway,

If you need an mx hlmet and don't have one i have an old one she can have.

End rant

Cops aren't parents.

Either go track 'em down, or let darwinism run it's course.

That was going to be my next step if they wont stop when I try to waive them down next time.

I really would like to resolve this in a friendly manner, but I can just see that kid run over in my head every time she rides by.

True, they're not parents. Yes, track them down. But regarding "darwinism", we're talking about a little girl, here.

The cops will at least get it across her dad's head that he's responsible for her.

I see a lot of kids on the back of their dad's bike with no gear ... not sure what their parents were thinking...

walk down to their house with the helmet and give it to her dad. If they dont use it call the fuzz (BJ go handle this)!

just call the police and register a complaint and ask them to discuss the issue with the parents. Cops don't like to work accident scenes involving kids.

Nothing against you JetG but I see this statement quoted all the time and I have yet to understand its meaning. The majority of people live in cities with most of what they need located within the 5 mile radius, therefore spending their time in that area. Logically, if one is going to be involved in an accident it will occur where they spend most of their time. So what? We aren't safer in the area outside that zone. Accidents don't cease once you pass the 5 mile limit. I wouldn't consider removing my gear just because I have traversed the 5 mile area safely.

What is the point of that statement? Bueller? Anyone?

Call the cops on the kid. Maybe you can save her from her dads ignorance. Obviously, he isn't smart enough to make the correct decision on his own.

having the cops harass the parents about there kid riding a dirtbike in the street is not going to make her wear a helmet unless the cops make mention of the fact that she's not even wearing protective gear.

snitching to the cops is not cool. Take the helmet over to the house and give him a bs story about how a friend lost his/her life without a helmet, since you have one available you would like to see it go for a good cause and made them promise to put it to good use.

It's just a generalize statement that most accident happens even when it is close to home or even around the corner.
