Mountain bike trails???

Tired of memorial, and looking for something a little more fun with more downhill. Anyone know of any other trails around Houston?

I LOVE mountain biking but am not dedicated to it b/c i didnt think there was a whole lot of good spots around here to do it. 25 mph downhill in a tire rut, That is fun!

it has been a few years since i was out there but it is very technical...a few small downhills but they mostly have sharp turns at the bottom. I always prefered it over memorial.

Well if I get another one the shop where I bought my S-Works told me they'll give me a good deal. They even said they'll throw in the $50 I spent for packaging my old bike. I might end up getting an '08 Epic Expert

Me and some buddies usually ride at memorial but go trough those place that say no biking beyond this point. If you look good enough you'll end up finding some sick trails. There is one over by one of the bridges that is real good we hit that one up almost every time we go.

Don't ride the closed trails!

There's a lot of good places 1/2 way to Austin as well.

I'm just getting into it, got my first bike about 3 weeks ago so I havent been to too many trails, but the Ant Hills were pretty fun. Bluff Creek Ranch is next on the list....check out the reviews.

I used to love mountain biking until I moved here to Houston. The trails around here suck IMO, so I don't ride anymore. You have to go to Austin to find any good trails. For anyone interested, I've got an '03 Trek Fuel 98 I'll sell for 1500 obo. I bought it just before I moved to Houston and I've ridden it maybe 10 times. It's complete carbon fiber and weighs 24-1/2 lbs. If you're interested PM me and I can get some pictures.

Hey, my grandfather and I used to ride over there. If you go down 1485 towards New Caney, over off peach creek take a left and go down to lake Houston park. They have some awesome trails in there. Just watch out for the bridge at the beginning of the trail if they haven't changed it. It is narrow. We used to ride 3-5 miles each time I visited over there. I miss that stuff.

We used to ride lake Somerville out of Nails Creek park. It had really good hills riding park to park. I used to ride a lot and ran cross country at that time, and it still kicked my . Other than that, Bastrop state park all the way to smithville is a good hilly ride, but is all on the street.
