Thoughts and Opinions HJC AC-12 Carbon

Please just postyour thoughts and opinions about this lid. IF you have actually owned one even better. I am having a problem in thatmyhead is pretty much inbetween M and L right now. My Shoei feels larger than I like and the Suomy (which I have FS) feels really tight.

Anyway post away.

What is the diameter of your head in centimeters?
What's the "shape" of your head? i.e.: round, oval, etc.
If possible come by the shop and we can properly size your head as well as evaluate what shape of head you have.
Plus, I can make you a SMOKING deal on the HJC if that's what you want.

I have one and like it a lot. It is noticeably lighter than my old HJC12, and doesn't buffet around in the wind. Shields are an easy change. Has some wind noise but I haven't tried too many others that don't.

I tried on Soumi and Scorpion and my head doesn't match their shape

I have never owned the carbon edition, but i wore an HJC AC-12 for about 20,000 miles and i thought it was a great helmet!!! Fit and finish was nice for the price and it had very little wind noise compared to some other helmets i have worn. If the lid fits, I say go for it.

I have that exact helmet along with about 8 other helmets including some high dollar ones and prefer that helmet over any other, but does have some wind noise at high speeds, earplugs should take care of that, very light btw

I always wear ear plugs or foam MP3 ear buds anyhow.

And the liner is removeable for cleaning or replacement also

The diameter is 58cm on the dot. My shape...well have you ever eaten peanuts in their shells. Take one of the fat shells and turn it so that it is lengthwise or perpendicular to the ground and there you have my head

Seriously though, I have a peanut shaped head. I'll have to get up there at some point soon. I would rather have someone knowledgeable about this fit me for something specific rather than me doing it myself and failing miserably.

Thanks for the responses everyone. I think this is going to be my next lid.

I LOVE mine, and Larry has fallen for his too.................light, quiet and the fit is better than the Arai's I used to be so fond of. I wore a LG Arai, and my HJC carbon is an XS. Go figure. I got mine through Haner and his sponsor connection, but Patrick has been helpful keeping me in sheilds. I got one of the very early models with the chrome vents etc. The "chrome" didn't stay well on the plastic, but gives it that "seasoned" look. One of the best lids out there for track used in MHO..........
