Yes, please. Post the short comings of our education system and our future leaders of tomorrow. Please, please!!
And when we read these "horror" papers, do we blame the student or the teacher?

Have they really? Or is perhaps the core as solid as it was..and it's 'our' interpetations and 'tweaking' that's been the problem?

You suggest throwing way 200 years of jurisprudence and back to the days of slave ownership and no running water to get us back on track?

Or do you mean redefing our American nation, land of the free and home of the brave that will endure the test of time and over coming any obsticle united, etc, etc...

Indeed you're right sir! Let's see...how would Mala fix the US?

No more Poverty: all the animals picked up by Animal Control would need to be butchered and packed as food sources. We could perhaps export to the poorer nations for a small profit.

Organic products would be legal litter material: no one would ever be fined for throwing a banana peel or orange rinds, etc. out of a car window onto the median.

Small Business Loans for Reformed Prostitutes:
Eh...it's just an idea I had once.

Education Reform: No more No Kids Left Behind. No more social promotion. Not everyone was cut out for higher education, we need to divert some of kids into votech programs earlier in their academic careers.

Equalization Among Classes and Races: I'd start a fostering system like they had during medieval times so kids from all different racial and socio-economical backgrounds had to "foster" in homes with other families for at least one summer during their high school years.

Media Blitz And I'd make billboards and other hideous and distracting forms of advertising illegal. A large city in Brazil did it with wonderful results.

Pollution Reduction I'd set up programs so that those living in major metropolitan areas with long commutes could easily "swap" comparable jobs with others. Say someone lives on the north side of Houston but works on the south side and someone who lives on the south side works on the north side. Just swap em. I'd give businessess major incentives to participate.

OK. Well, there's my platform.

I wish the problem was simple enough to blame either the teacher or student. It would be a much easier fix.

Agreed, but I don't think that further illustration of the of the problem will help either.

My friend, I'll be the first to tell you that spelling isn't everything; it really isn't anything but another construct. I've met brilliant folk who can't spell for and idiots who Strunk & White would adore.

Yeah Cletus, it will help. It'll help someone who's mucking around in the trenches day in and day out feel a bit less like the kid who keeps insisting there's a monster in the closet when no one will listen. Most folk don't really understand A: how bad it is or B: the horrific short and long term implications. :/:

It is the system that constricts the student and the teacher.
