The reason I feel they should get paid is the fact that it will attract more teachers period. You always hear about the shortage of teachers. Good teachers at that. A friend of mine is a teacher and she isn't exactly making a lot of money, which is pretty sad. True, they get a lot of off time but should that be the only perk of wanting to become a teacher?

A president should influence the religious values of the nation? Shouldn't that be something that society determines?

....a brain, some , integrity, honesty.

We need someone with a good sense of ethics, responsibility that doesn't want to be president.

That is the burden of public service. They should get a tax break or something. Your talking about tax money. Your talking using more money that we don't have to fund programs that we don't know will work.

I have learned that people that claim to christians will screw you over just as quick as anyone else. ie........ we had a guy in the shop that owes us $7000.00 he said I am a good christian man I will make good on this, he no more got this sentence out of his mouth and started trying to weasel his way out of paying. It has been over 6 months and still no $ very christian of him right. religion has nothing to do with the presidency or thier values because anyone can tell you they are a good christian and stab you in the back when your not looking. I would say take the religion out of the equation because not all people are what they claim to be.

I can't help but think when I first read this that the person didn't actually mean christian and in bible thumper but in strong judean ethics and western civilization morals.
I guess that was just me seeing how Britt and Arturo are going at it.

My very first post in this thread was this...

"True, Strong, Christian Values. I don't mean lip service Christianity either.'

I'm sorry you got screwed over by someone that claimed to be a Christian. Lets not generalize and put all Bible believing and practicing Christians in that catagory, okay?

Britt

I'll go ahead and assume that if your was under a rock in China, the chinese would have found her by now.

Based on the ignorance of this statement, I'll not debate you further.

Dark matter, as with black holes can still be observed. Not directly, but by observing their affect on the objects around it.

Kids are the future of the nation. The president should have the future of the nation as a high priority, hence educating children to be the new leaders of the nation to come.

It doesn't work currently and that is why I am saying they should consider research, common sense and care when redoing the education system and not just looking at the cheapest way of getting the best test scores.

Kids are an investment and it irks me when they start talking about how much the public schools cost, blah blah. You get as much out of it as you put into it and as I said, if we don't keep with the times and develop a knowledgable workforce, the U.S. will lose out.

That's funny. I was saying the same thing with your first statement. (and most statements you make )

But what's to debate. Give me some evidence and I will set out to have it tested.

Thought so.
