gets to be like second nature in the car biz.

You start predicting buyers from non-buyers the moment they come in due to appearance, what they are driving, how they talk, etc.

There are many times when I come across as a . I am to straight forward at times, and my honesty is quit brutal. So I have to really think b/4 I can speak. And do my very best to sugar coat things. People say they want for you to be entirely honest, but I don’t believe that is true. I do not think that people are prepared for complete honesty.

just what i think... :dontknow:

It's easy to write people off when you work in an industry where your sales impact your income. However, not everyone that has money likes to flaunt it. You have to give everyone the benefit of the doubt and treat them all with an equal amount of respect.

Classic case of PROFILING. We all do it. Most of the time I'm right.

one of my largest sales came from someone that didn't seem like they could authorize the purchase. Man I was glad I didn't blow that customer off.

in sales you can't judge people by the way they look, otherwise you'll be going hungry especially if you work straight commission.....

when I was in sales treating the nasty people the same paid off for me many times......had a pig farmer come in and sign one of the biggest contracts for cell phones I'd ever sold (back in '94) and I was outside sales so I got residuals on his bill every month......he was dirty and smelly but his contract paid my bills for a LONG time.

Reminds me of the time that I went to IW Marks to look for a diamond (for my wife's wedding ring) back in '96. I was wearing a t-shirt, jeans, and sneakers. Nobody would give me 2 seconds of their time. This one old in there blatently ignored me and went to the man next to me who happened to be wearing a suit. I had about $4000 in cash to spend. I figured they didn't want it so I left and went to Zales.
