Christ Mass....

It was a service that the devoted christians attended the week of the English changing of the seasons festival when they use to drink and fornicate on the streets. It was the alternative to the seasonal change for the 'holier then thou art' community.

The Germans brought the idea of bringing trees and shrubbery indoors as a way of preserving the last signs of life for the season, hence came the tree. I believe it was some tradition in europe for candle lighting and decoration. Early American settlers were compacted together w/ different groups and all traditions began coming together into what is now understood as Christmas tradition.

Its not to say its a holiday just for Christ, but it is a time of remembrance where those who use to struggle during this season w/ the atmosphere around them to brush up and seek the answers they felt they needed to become stronger in their faith and surpass the challenges from other's actions.

I take it for a time to remember what matters most to life. When others scramble for gift giving, I reflect on the people that make my life what it is and choose to share time and express my love for them.

Ok, I'll get off the soap box now...
