On the way home from the meet. . .

So after dealing with Joe's engine death I took off down Beltway8 frontage towards I59 to go home. Well I didnt notice the sign saying the frontage merged onto the bridge for just that section and I stayed on what became a tight U-turn onto the frontage road on the other side. Well thats all well and good other than the dirtbikers that had kicked dead grass and sand ALL OVER the road. I was coming out of the second turn, just about to straighten out when the fine coating of sand on the road threw my back tire out towards my right side. I came off the throttle and got it recovered enough to get to the curb. . . and over we went . Im fine but the curb did a lil number on my right fairing and a few other lil scratches. Maybe I didnt handle it perfectly but I think I saved myself from a total wipe. :eh: Well just wondering if anything knew the actual cost of a 2005 GSXR right front fairing (20th ann.) im not all choked up about it cause it could have gone worse and I think I handled it right. right: Well I guess this is where I get my flaming IM READY YOU BASTARDS COME AND GET ME

BTW had a awesome time with yall today

Re: On the way home from the meet. . .

400+ thats a load. I prolly gotta buy one anyways cause if they stop making them I wanna be able to sell the bike eventually in tact. I guess this is a pay to play sport.

Re: On the way home from the meet. . .

I got some decent advice on those other boards. They suggested I get it repaired. Its not cracked or anything, just scratched some. Is this possible and if so, who can do it around here?

Re: On the way home from the meet. . .

yea unfortunatly frame sliders wouldnt have helped. . . It was the curb that did the damage. I was literally going like 3 mph when it actually keeled over onto the curb. I love the grass stain on my jacket the most

MSF ISN'T the save all cure all........ its all about information, information on how to handle certain situations, its not some bulletproof vest. Information can be interpreted many ways, ignored, or even used to better you, I would hope in taking the MSF it would better help you in any future incidents. *In my opinion you did as best as you could, rolling off the throttle..... smart move and good to see you had the control over the throttle even in a panic situation.

As for the plastics ? I still swear by ebay, you'll find them soon enough, or maybe even someone who made a track only bike and is looking to sell off the plastics as a set......... buy the set, use the one part you need, and ebay the rest to turna profit and come out ahead.
