While motorcycles are "in mind", tracks like that don't survive on motorcycle members alone. The bigger money is with the cars and the car owners.

Not to mention, this track has been "up and coming" for a long time now. I hope Marcus is able to move through any obstacles and make this dream a reality this coming year

I doubt it'll be on the web right away, they're doing a live press release with radio and TV.

Sorry, I was being facetious.

I been watching this develop for a long time...the east coast/south-east tracks have spoiled me

I know they don't survive on bikes alone but the design has more runoff and no walls right next to the track in any corner making it much safer for bikes than any of the other tracks we have in Texas. This track was designed to take the walls out of play in the event of an accident. It is very safe for both bikes and cars.

Also I know they have got their ducks lined up and a some more exciting news to officially discuss once it is officially released.

Right and right. For the original design (___ year(s) ago now), they got input from professional auto racing and professional motorcycle racing entities and designers.

I know it'll be safer for bikes and cars, mostly because Marcus put that at the fore-front, and has seen the types of tracks (even recently built) that are not designed with motorcycle safety in mind (though it seems a lot are saying they did...).

I'll be more enthusiastic when I see some asphalt going down. Until then, I can only send positive thoughts and well-wishes to Marcus and his team.

Don't worry, I do not live that close south of Canada.

That's why your name looked familiar.
For a while I was excited to have someone in further north (so I can make fun of someone else, too ).

I recently moved here from NC (Research Triangle Park).
Work for a local hi tech company.
Live in Austin with wife and 3 kids.
Enjoy moto, scuba and soccer (my 3 passions).
Looking forward to continue learning the motorcycling skills (don't think it will ever stop - which is a good thing actually).
I spoke to you Tom a few times via email.
Well, I spilled my beans.
Love this state. I have to say after living in NC for 8 years, I already like TX much more, and so does my family.

Nutmegchoi - you got snow already? I guess...I was in Wisconsin once (Stevens Point - when buying my R1), and I remember it was January, with a temp of about 25F. I was freezing my off. It was a sunny day (yes, I was in Wisconsin for 1 day), and the people there were wearing tshirts like it was summer time. They kept on saying how hot it was. I guess, for them, whenever the oil in the oil pan does not freeze up, it is hot.
But I guess you now have a chance to practice some winter sports that you wouldn't have a chance to practice here in TX.
