Crabb ride this morning.... HAD FUN FELLAS!!

We went on a quick run around Crabb this morning. Had alot of fun! First time i actually got to really get down on the 10r on some corners since i got it and it felt really good! Honestly, at first, it kinda made me want the 636 back(lighter weight and im more used to it) but this 10r does surprisingly well for a bigger bike. Im sure after a few more trips, ill get more and more comfortable on it and get better at tossing it around. The extra power in displacement is nice coming out of the corners though and in the straights. That i can get used to! lol I had to take it a little easy on the stock qualifiers so i didnt push it too hard... I CANT WAIT to get those race take off BT002's on it and hit Crabb again hopefully later this week or early next...

Anyways, had fun guys!!! Need to do it again soon!

if you had fun on crabb, you should actually try a road with turns!

Some of us had stuff to do today, so we had to pick something very close, and at least a little fun.

If you "had to take it a little easy on the stock qualifiers so i didnt push it too hard" then you are well over what is acceptable on the street. Save it for the track. Please.

i can promise you it was more of a mind thing than actually outriding the tires.

Secret: Both you guys ride 1st gen zx10s? Ive never met Jimmy but i thought he had a 03/04 636?

And yes, it was probably a little more in my head than outperforming the tires themselves... I felt them push a little on me and didnt really like the feeling. It was was enough to know id rather take it easy and replace my tires before i need to replace my plastics...

yeah, i know you like both, it's just a nice little stab at a 2nd gen. all in good fun.

and don't worry, the pace of the SMR's isn't nearly as high as some people try to make it out to be. yeah, you'll have your 3-5 up front going nuts, but most of the group is hanging way back just enjoying the ride. it's by no means a to the wall ride for everyone involved.

They seem pretty soft and tacky even cold compared to the factory qualifiers so im sure they will be an improvement. Ive actually heard they stick great...

You had a bad experience with them?

i think he was referring to your comments on how you ride. they're race tires, so they're designed to run with more heat in them, and they take quite a bit to get up to that heat. granted, easy to do on a race track in a couple laps, but kinda tough on the street if you're not pushing a pretty decent pace.

although, even cold they'll be WAY better than those OEM dunflops you have now. worst OEM tire ever made.
