Fiddy problem

Posting this up for Chris since he can't get to a computer --

He has a brand new TTR 50 that has been running pretty rough. He found what he believes to be the problem - after just about every ride he has to take off the air filter and clean it because it fills up with gas - like gas will pour out of it!

He took it to the dealer and they didn't have an answer. Anybody know anything about something like this?

either that or the "valve" is stuck and the motor isnt burning the gas....is it shooting flames at full throtle?
I haven't ever seen it shoot flames, but that would be pretty awesome.

I'll ask Chris if it does that and will recommend a carb check-up.

thanks

if it's brand new, take it back and have em give you another one, since they cant seem to figure out why it's happening. fk that junk.

my girls ttr 125 had the same problem and it ended up being an issue with the fuel I found out by diconnecting the hose the runs from it to the carb and setting the valve on off and finding out it wasn't stoping the fuel in any position that I set it.

this sounds about right.

The dealer told him that they thought he was just laying it over on it's side when he finished riding it - obviously he wasn't doing this.

Probably float height, or chunk of rubber or debris in the fuel inlet valve. Any dealer that can't get a TTR50 to run spot on with no fuel leak is a f'ing moron. It's about as complicated as wood.

Incorrect float level or in the needle/seat... easy fix. also have him check the bowl vent, sounds like it may be plugged.

it shouldnt matter if your riding wheelies, like they said check the float height on the carb, might be letting too much fuel in
