My Bike is down for the Count

and um . my Blue New 05 R6 with all the factory warrenty and service plan up after the Cook out over by AMC 30 on the to Furmen. Lost all power to the last wheel.
Every one stopped to and helped me out.( thanks guys)I bought some Gaterade for every one for ruining the evening. Tried push Start. BUt i have battery so thats not it. I had just got the bike back from its 8000 mile tune up. and the Service guy droped a screw in my engine and had to do a complete engine Tear down to find it. puts it back together and then there is a clicking sound.
They told me" go ahed and take it for the weekend and bring it back on tuesday so we can see if we can take that clicking sound out for ya."(Word for word) I asked them are you sure! they said "yea nothing should happen." MY . I asked befor I left "what is that nasty clicking sound "and they said "could be your Cam Shafts"?
- Some of the guys said it could be that your cams locked up and fried your pistens?
- others said your , and to tell them to get a complete new Moter directly from Yamaha. to be on the safe side.

Other then this problem I loved the Cook out. Hey SOL Lets have another befor it gets cold. I'll like get a little crotch rocket and ride out there, if i don't have a new bike by then. :eh:

Re: My Bike is down for the Count

That sucks! They'll probably want to rebuild it. I'd hold out for a new motor, since they couldn't tell you what the clicking sound was I wouldn't let them tell you the can fix it now.

Re: My Bike is down for the Count

Joe: Sorry to hear about that... :eh: :eh: :eh:

I'm afraid that the ticking sound that we heared at the BBQ was maybe something foreign inside the engine...??? Is the mechanic sure that only one screw/bolt fall inside the engine...??? You need to explain the situation very well to the dealer and they need to admit that they it up.

At least everything is covered under warranty. According to the Law:

Quote:
LEMON LAW

The Texas "lemon law" provides remedies to those consumers who purchased a defective new vehicle. Under the "lemon law," you may be entitled to have your vehicle repurchased or replaced if you meet one of the following requisites:

(1) Your vehicle has been subject to repair four or more times for the same defect by the manufacturer or its franchised dealer and two of the repair attempts have been made within a period of 12 months following the date of original delivery to you, or 12,000 miles, whichever occurs first, and the other two repair attempts occur within the 12 months or 12,000 miles immediately following the date of the second repair attempt, whichever occurs first, but such nonconformity continues to exist;

(2) The defect or nonconformity creates a serious safety hazard and has caused the vehicle to have been subject to repair two or more times by the manufacturer or authorized agent or franchised dealer, and at least one attempt to repair the nonconformity was made in the period of 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever occurs first, and at least one other attempt made in the period of 12 months or 12,000 miles after the first repair attempt, whichever occurs first, but the nonconformity continues to exist; or

(3) The vehicle is out of service for repair for a cumulative total of 30 or more days in the 24 months or 24,000 miles, whichever occurs first, and at least two repair attempts were made in the first 12 months or 12,000 miles immediately following the date of original delivery to an owner and a nonconformity still exists that substantially impairs the vehicle's use or market value.

REPLACEMENT OR REPURCHASE OF YOUR VEHICLE

If the manufacturer or dealer is unable to conform your vehicle to an applicable express warranty by repairing or correcting any defect or condition which creates a serious safety hazard or substantially impairs the use or market value of the motor vehicle after a reasonable number of attempts, the manufacturer shall:

(1) Replace the motor vehicle with a comparable motor vehicle; or
(2) Accept return of the vehicle from the owner and refund to the owner the full purchase price less a reasonable allowance for the owner's use of the vehicle and any other allowances or refunds payable to the owner.

STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS

Under the DTPA, you must file suit on your claim within two years after the date on which the false, misleading, or deceptive act or practice occurred. You may also file suit within two years after you discovered or in the exercise of reasonable diligence should have discovered the occurrence of the false, misleading, or deceptive act or practice.

Under the Texas "lemon law," you must file your claim or suit within six months of the expiration of the express warranty term or 24 months or 24,000 miles following the date of original delivery of the motor vehicle to you, whichever is the earliest.

Yeah,
I doubt you'd get a new bike, but that would sure be sweet.
Good luck either way.
Next time buy a honda.
